meme me? meme YOU!

Here's a little meme from my friends in the LiveJournal community. I had to alter some of the lingo to make sense to the bloggers of the world... but I thought it seemed fun.

If you respond to this post I will:

1) Tell you why I friended you how we became friends.
2) Associate you with a song/movie.
3) Tell a random fact about you.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
5) Associate you with an animal/fruit.
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
7) Show a favourite user pic of yours. Ummm, associate you with a food or smell. Why not?
8) In retort, you MUST spead this disease in your LJ (or blog, or... whatever).

OK, I've spent the past week trying to get Fair Market Values for IRA accounts at a company I no longer own, but am still "helping out" for a while longer. I'm getting nutty, so dazzle me with your BS.

Yay for Happy State Bank!! Oh, I have an IRA there! Work me a great rate.

1) We are "friends" because you are FAMILY, yo. But I also happen to think you are a pretty cool dude.
2) I always think about you when I see Big Fish, because we saw it together shortly after your father (my grandfather) passed away, and we both cried a little (you in a manly way, of course).
3) A random fact about you... a lot of people don't know that you're the President of Texas.
4) First memory... you've always been around, so I don't remember the first. A fond one, though, is lying under the stars drinking a brewski, listening to James Taylor... one of the first times I remember hanging out with your family sans mine. Good times.
5 & 7) I associate you with bell peppers. Not an animal or a fruit, but because you hate them with the fire of a thousand suns, and might be the only person in the whole world that hates them more than I do. Same for coconut. Blech.
6) Ummm... I don't know that I've ever NOT asked you something I wanted to know, so... who's your favorite niece? *weg*

1) we had Intro to Sociology together.
2) "Wind Beneath my Wings," of course
3) You have the most obnoxious and awesome laugh I've ever heard
4) first...? Sociology, I guess. I'm pretty sure I looked straight at you and laughed out loud when our professor called Chapter 1 "light and frothy."
5) Garfield
6) This is a hard one... mostly because I'm not shy about asking people questions, and if I did have one, this certainly wouldn't be the appropriate medium in which to ask it. I herby state I'm leaving #6 out of the rest of my answers.
7) Paydays.

You! You! YOU!

1) We became friends because JT ran into you at his high school reunion and you started commenting on his blog, and then MY blog, and then we started e-mailing, and then calling, and then visiting, and then meeting in New York City... wow, what a ride!
2) Two words: Billy Joel. Well, Billy Joel and really awful hip-hop.
3) You are Rainman.
4) karaoke... Jack Daniels... vomit.
5) Animal or fruit? Your answer would be: "I'd eat that."
6) No.
7) Lemon.

Kiddo!!!!

1) We became friends a long time ago in a far away galaxy, er... X-Files forum. You were there against the will of your parents, since they were trying to keep internet stalkers away from their baby, baby girl. Thank goodness I didn't turn out to be a stalker.
2) Gilmore Girl, the elder
3) You are the coolest 20-year old I have ever known
4) Coming home to my brand-new, very empty apartment, to a surprise snarky t-shirt!! You are the only person who got me a house-warming gift, and one with sass, at that.
5) Puppies, kittens, anything that is wee and darling.
6) No.
7) Junk food!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, my turn for Jamie:

1) Originally, it was through Tonya's blind date... but the deal was sealed when we talked about the evils of Catholicism, the dangers of bisexuality, and our hopes and dreams for the perfect relationship... all during a Kung Fu movie in a private screening room.
2) I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues. (for only upbeat, positive reasons!)
3) She never abbreviates words in her IMs, and I love her all that much more for it.
4) Boobs hanging over a pool table. (Kids, cover your eyes!)
5) Kitty (Hello! Or as David Tennant would say: 'Ello!)
6) Just how branch-y IS your family tree?!
7) Carbonara sauce.

Ah, one of my first, well, most memorable, memories of Jamie is talking on the phone to my sister in Nacadoodoo, and hearing her tell you to quit crying. "Why is she crying?" I asked. "Oh, there's a butterfly smashed on the front of the car." I guess that was my first experience with little girls who are goofy sentimental.

Now, it's mostly crying over boys and stuff. Still goofily sentimental.

OK, Tom:

1) That one party I went to with Tonya, where I rode the bus (my ONLY time) and got vomit on my shoes, and then had 2 cocktails and fell asleep in the cab on the way back to Christopher St PATH Station. Good times.
2) Dr Who (and a whole lotta other stuff)
3) You are the straightest gay man I have ever met
4) You: "It is so nice to finally meet you- I've heard so much about you! I hope we can hang out again soon but right now I have to go throw up some tequila."
5) Maraschino (sp?) cherries- I always give you mine.
6) If you were straight, would you marry me?
7) Soft-shell crab, because of that one time you ordered it as take-out, and dropped it face-down on your dirty, dirty floor, and instead of picking it up, sat down and wrote me an e-mail about it.

hello jamie: said...

Uncle Al, I've never heard that story about me and the butterfly, but it sure does speak volumes about my relationship with my mother, no?

Man, do I lead a totally slovenly, decadent, horrific, ridiculous life. And it took reading these surveys to really cement that in my mind.

*hangs head in shame*

hello jamie: said...

WHAT? I love your life!!! I love you in MY life. Stop your whining.

krysten said...

ok, so i am TOTALLY weirded out by the fact that jamie and i BOTH said cherry (specifically the candied kind on desserts) as the fruit associated with tom. seriously. weird.

and i just laughed until i cried about that soft-shelled crab thing.

i'm also glad that vomiting alcohol is not just MY gleaming memory in people's minds.

I'm interested in being memed.

Oh no... I've had my fair share. Like the night I met Jamie... four tequila shots in.

Oh to be young and dumb again. In fact, maybe this weekend...

Miss Bill Chanandler:

1) I met you first at Baptist All-State Choir camp, at a gathering for people who were going to attend ETBU in the fall. We were 17 and you had poofy hair, braces, and were wearing a Centrifuge shirt (the "Keys for You" one, I think). However, you don't remember that, so I'll say we met in college.
2) BSG and Dr. Who... but always, the X-Files
3) You are one of the kindest people I know.
4) That one from #1.
5) Limes. You LOVE lime and put it on and in everything.
6) Why doesn't a footprint look like a boot?
7) Meat. (Tasty, tasty murder.)

"Why doesn't a footprint look like a boot?"?!?!?!?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

(in best Homer voice) Mmmmm... Tennant...

1) Krysten
2) How about a book? Choose your own Adventure!!
3) You hate fish. And mushrooms. And meat. And blue cheese.
4) My thoughtful and completely surprising Christmas gift of lemon-stuffed olives!!
5) raspberries.
6) null
7) lemon drop martinis

How'd I do?

The Bagboy said...

Because it merely imprints itself on the skin of the world, and gives you no impression of what is inside.
